New Caledonia is 1500 km away from Australia and 1700 km away from New Zealand. This group of islands is composed of the "Grande Terre" (400 km long), of the Bélep Islands in the north, of the Isle of Pines in the south and of the Loyalty Islands in the east (Lifou, Maré, Ouvéa and Tiga).

Diving in New Caledonia, it is exceptionnal flora and fauna of a huge diversity, often endemic, in a 24 000 km2 lagoon protected by a 1 600 km reef barrier. Two third of this lagoon are inscripted on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Passe de Tiputa

New Caledonia is under a tropical oceanic climate. Temperature changes from 17°C to 28°C with two marked seasons : a warm and humid season running from December to March and a drier and colder season from June to September.

The best periods run from September to December and from April to June with nice temperatures and dry weather. Cyclonic risks run from December till the end of March.

My passion and my job led me to dive in many places in the world (Reunion island, French Polynesia,...) and now in New Caledonia.

I will guide you, in closed circuit rebreather, discovering this extraordinary biodiversity.

Ten species of sharks are potentially encountered in New Caledonia :

- Grey reef shark, Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos

- Lagoon whitetip shark, Triaenodon obesus,

- Silvertip shark, Carcharhinus albimarginatus

- Reef Blacktip shark, Carcharhinus melanopterus

- Blacktip shark, Carcharhinus limbatus,

- Great Hammerhead shark, Sphyrna mokarran,

- Tiger shark, Galeocerdo cuvier

- Whale shark, Rhincodon typus

- Bull shark, Carcharhinus leucas

Requins Gris

The dives take place in the lagoon, the passes and on the outside reef around the "Grande Terre", the Isle of Pines and the Loyalty Islands.

Grand Requin MarteauThe passes of Boulari, Dumbea and others offer the possibility to make unforgetable encounters with sharks, Manta rays, but also with big grouper concentration during the reproduction season. Closed circuit rebreather will allow you to make really nice approachs.

Raie Léopard

On the outside reef, we dive along the drop off covered by corals, soft corals and gorgonians... The different colors of fish and fixed fauna make exceptionnal dives.

Here also, close circuit rebreather will allow you to optimised dive time and decompression time.

Raie Manta

Dives in the lagoon are very divers. Except corals and usual fish, we will find an extraodinary number of nudibranches and rare shells, but also marine serpents, including the famous Tricot rayé. And if you have got chance, you will encounter Dugongs.

Closed circuit rebreather will allow you to do long dives in security.

There is a wide fauna and flora diversity in New Caledonia.
Diving with closed circuit rebreather allows to observe it in an optimal way, either in the lagoon, the passes or the external reef.
